Class Descriptions
Kombat Kardio-
A fast paced
cardiovascular conditioning class that uses basic boxing techniques without
using gloves or bags.
Choreographed to upbeat music, this class is not too fancy—all levels are
welcome.
Shaolin Kung Fu
- A martial arts program that explores a modern approach to the path of the
ancient masters;
using techniques such as strikes, blocks and kicks this class will take you to
an inner journey of discovery, balance and enlightenment. All levels are
welcome.
BuffBallet: A ballet fitness class that uses the technique of ballet as well as the elements of fitness conditioning and mat pilates. No dance experience needed and all levels welcome.
Lunch Crunch Workout-25 minutes of cycle for all levels. 10 minutes of a different muscle group each week.
Meet in the cycle room and please be a few minutes early if you are a beginner.
Cardio Sculpt-Make the most of your one hour workout with this class. While building muscular strength and endurance you will also get your cardiovascular training………..all at the same time! There are modifications for all exercises so all levels are welcome to join in.
Pilates Sculpt-This all level muscle defining class gives you sculpt that is driven from the strength of your core. All the basic sculpt with the added bonus of balance and combined movement working into traditional mat pilates exercises to finish.
Step and Kick-This one hour class combines kickboxing with step class. It’s a great way to mix it up and get in shape.
6 pack attack- This thirty-minute class will revamp your stomach. It’s a concentrated half-hour of nothing but abdominal work.
Upper Cut- This thirty-minute class is dedicated to the back, chest, and arms. It’s the ultimate upper body workout.
Brand New Booty-This thirty-minute class is dedicated to reshaping the lower body.
Extreme Core- This class is multi-dimensional training on an unstable, reactive surface that places more demands on you to control your balance through dynamic use of your core muscles. The muscle conditioning class of the future…….enter the POWER ZONE!
Fat Burner Fusion-Circuit training style class that is designed to burn fat and strengthen your muscles. It’s a combination of calisthenics, shadow boxing, high/lo impact, and body sculpting. A great workout for everybody.
Cardio Fusion-A cardiovascular format of kickboxing, rope jumping, and step drills followed by 30 minutes of weight training and ab work. Right to the point!
Cardio Fusion- This class is guaranteed to give you that jump start you need by fusing cardio movement (kickboxing, step, &hi/lo aerobics) with intervals of muscle toning/strength exercises. There's no better way to start your day than with a hard core sweat! All levels welcome.
Bodyworks- A full body workout that focuses on muscular strength as well as muscular endurance. High repetitions using hand weights and/or resistance tubing will increase your muscular definition without building bulk. This is a non-cardiovascular format focusing on muscular conditioning.
Rhythm & Reps
is a new take on body sculpting. Lots of repetitions with
light or no weights for a head to toe sculpted finish. Combine this with
rhythmic dance/movements and you’ll get a strong core conditioning, heart
pumping workout for your soul.
On The Ball-An effective yet easy to follow class using the exercise ball to improve your back and torso strength. You will also target all of the major muscle groups using exercise bands and hand held weights.
Mat Pilates-A technique that began as a safe way for dancers to rehabilitate injuries and progressed into a workout discipline to strengthen “the center” of the body. Slow, progressive exercises work strength and flexibility in a balanced routine. Based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates.
Yoga-A challenging workout using static and fluid postures. Increases your flexibility and maintains the range of motion in your joints. Creates a stronger body while releasing stress and fatigue. All levels are welcome.
Cycle/yoga- a complete combination workout. 45 minutes of cycle followed by 30 minutes of basic yoga. This class will get you moving, get you balanced and keep you strong all at once.
BOXING & CYCLING CLASSES
Boxing-A 60 minute workout that is both cardiovascular and addicting. J You’ll go through a professional fighter’s routine that will involve bag work, shadow boxing, skipping rope, lower body conditioning, ab work and flexibility training.
Kickboxing- This class is similar to the boxing class but it involves more of the lower body by using kicks as well as punches in the combinations. A high calorie, stress releasing workout!
Power Kick- A high intensity cardio kickboxing class that uses punching and kicking combinations as well as strength and flexibility training for a balanced body workout.
Super Kick- This kickboxing class has a strong emphasis on the lower body and is designed to improve balance, flexibility, endurance, strength, and coordination. It’s fast pace will improve your cardiovascular fitness as well as your speed and timing by using combinations that include jump and spinning kicking techniques.
Circuit Box-This boxing class will work in “stations” so that there is constant variety and nonstop movement. You’ll still get your boxing technique, just with more intensity.
Meridian Fight Club-This is simply a forum for independent work with boxing technique. ***no instructor.
Cycle-A stationary cycling class that emulates road riding. Done on a specially designed fixed gear cycle this class will simulate riding over many types of terrain. A great class for the beginner as well as the advanced cyclist.
Cycle Tech- This is the place to start. An introduction to indoor cycling. In this class you’ll learn all of the basics that you’ll need for a cycling class.
Ride & Abs- A 45 minute cycling class with an added 15 minutes of abdominal work.
